Mystery Monday

I work with a lot of people, unlike my wife who works with seven people. I also talk with a lot of individuals in person, on the phone and via e-mail. One thing that boggles my mind and remains a mystery to me, is the fixation people have on days of the week, mainly Fridays . For example, Friday seems to be everyone's favorite day of the week. When interacting with someone, they may respond with something generic like, "At least it's FRIDAY!" or "Well I'm just happy it's Friday!" The world evolves around Friday.

Say it's Thursday, same scenario. You ask someone how they're doing. They reply, "Oh I'm just happy it's Thursday," or "Only one more day until Friday!" Wednesday becomes a hump day, "Half-way to Friday!" Wonderful, but I don't care what day of the week it is.

Why is Friday so great?
Are people's lives so pathetic and boring that all they have to look forward to is Friday?

People need to get original and think of something more creative to talk about other than weather and days of the week.
Not all Fridays are good:

Happy Monday everyone!
